Fully balanced in a lot of ways. The production is clean enough that you can hear the bass lines clearly without anything else dropping out, which is rare. The vocals change up often and keep things interesting, and the solos add a technical edge that almost pushes this into Tech Death. There are some ridiculous tempo changes that I had to replay just to make sure I wasn’t hearing things wrong. Tons of groove and a lot of great ideas packed into every track. This is exactly the type of album I hope shows up near the end of the year, and it’s one more reason I don’t finalize an AOTY list before January.
