Surfaced’s Where Angels Fear to Tread delivers catchy riffs, strong drumming, and a versatile vocal range from gutturals to demonic fry screams. “The Weight You Choose to Carry” stands out with a killer breakdown and crushing growls, while “Safe in the Presence of Evil” leans heavy into hardcore grit.
The clean backing and group vocals don’t add much, and the EDM-tinged “Buried In” derails momentum. Bass presence is weak and the mix a little flat, but overall it’s a promising death, deathcore, and metalcore blend.
